Endometriosis is a disease in which cells of the endometrial (inner lining of the uterus) take root outside the uterine cavity. For example, in the fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus, inside the peritoneum, bladder, rectum and so they find themselves in a foreign environment, these cells continue to operate like the lining of the uterus, and changes occur, similar to the changes in the endometrial during the menstrual cycle.

Endometriosis is genital .However, the field of Gynecology only genital endometriosis that is associated with the female reproductive system.
